New Update for New Icon!
My Script and Serif font duo New Icon hit the ground running on it’s launch in November 2022, and it was amazing to see my first ‘technical’ script font (i.e. digitally refined rather than purely handwritten) receive such positive feedback. The initial idea was to create two fonts that were mixable, i.e. you can just throw a script letter in the middle of the serif, and it wouldn’t look out of place – giving you something creative and iconic (hence the name!). This worked a treat, but it was clear to me that both fonts also work great on their own, or when paired next to each other as different words (rather than mixed within the same word). With that in mind I knew I needed to flesh out the serif font and make it even more versatile. Firstly, the addition of a lowercase set was definitely in order, and a second unique set of italic characters was carefully designed from the ground-up to accompany the new regular set – available in both Regular and Condensed variations.
This means the New Icon font package now contains Five fonts; the Script, Serif, Serif Italic, Serif Condensed, and Serif Condensed Italic. Of course, those script and uppercase serif letters still mix together beautifully, but you now have an extended Serif family to allow you to take the font further with your project, for striking branding, headlines or body text.
How do I get the updated files?
The updated font files are included as part of the original New Icon package, at the same price. You can simply purchase the New Icon font family to receive a copy of all 5 font files. If you’ve already purchased the font, the update is free for you! Simply login to your account (or create an account under the same e-mail address you used to make your purchase), and re-download the font to receive a copy of the latest files.
